Global Newsletter Introduction
November 29, 2023
Dear Virginia Tech community,
It is my distinct honor to introduce Virginia Tech’s new global newsletter showcasing the breadth of international engagement by our students, faculty, and staff. This newsletter illuminates the myriad ways we are fulfilling the university’s tripartite land-grant mission of teaching and learning, research and discovery, and outreach and engagement across the world.
At the core of Virginia Tech’s mission is Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) — a motto that compels Hokies to apply their knowledge and talents to advance the greater good without regard for borders. Our global programs empower students to gain crucial international perspectives. Our worldwide research partnerships lead to life-changing discoveries. Our engagement initiatives in communities abroad manifest Virginia Tech’s exceptional capacity for service.
Through this newsletter, our broader university community has a platform to share and celebrate these stories of global impact. The newsletter is meant to be a springboard for cross-departmental collaboration and intercultural connectivity. Together through international partnership, we live out Ut Prosim and impact our world.
